What Are The Most Common Causes of Personal Injury?

Florida’s cities are growing more crowded every day. There are times when it is impossible to avoid getting in harm’s path due to all the activity. The state’s citizens are protected under laws and policies that allow personal injury lawsuits to be filed and insurance claims to aid in recovery. It is better to be safe than sorry. Knowing the most common causes of personal injuries can help to avoid them.

Auto Accidents – Not only are there collisions between cars, but also between people. The roads of Southwest Florida are shared by pedestrians and cars. Even the smallest mistake can cause accidents. Bicycles and motorcycles, for example, are vulnerable to larger vehicles because they can easily become lost in the blind spot of another vehicle.

Auto accidents can also involve pedestrians. These pedestrian-vehicle collisions can be caused by the negligence of drivers, poor visibility, or natural phenomena.

Slip and Fall Accidents – Everyone has places and things to do. A simple misstep or turn can quickly escalate into a slip-and-fall accident. These accidents can occur anywhere, anytime. This could happen at your home, where you may think it is safe. This can also occur in public places like restaurants and shopping malls. Slip and fall accidents are most common at work.

Slip and falls, just like auto accidents, can be traced back to negligence. For example, a property owner who didn’t manage or maintain the space correctly.

Work-related Injuries – No job is perfect. You aren’t 100% safe from a work-related injury. Slip and fall accidents are not the only possible dangers. You can sustain work-related injuries by doing your job. This is very common in areas such as construction zones or manufacturing industries.

Workers’ compensation is available for workers who sustain injuries at work. Personal injury cases can also be filed depending on the facts.

Animal Attacks – Florida is no stranger to animal attacks, but the most common in everyday Florida life is dog attacks. No matter whether the pet is a dog or a cat, pet owners are responsible for their animals. The owner of the pet is responsible for any injuries sustained by a pet owner, such as being bitten, scratched, or otherwise inflicted.

Although there is no way to avoid accidents completely, there are ways to minimize their impact and prevent them from happening. A personal injury lawyer is available if you find yourself in an emergency situation and are unsure if your case falls within the scope of personal injury. They will not only help you navigate the next steps but also help you win your case. You just need to focus on your recovery.
